The Frank Mooney Memorial Prize is a $150 award given annually to a Colonie High School student chosen by the faculty in recognition of excellence in
- vocal music as demonstrated in performance and class work, and in
- English as demonstrated in creative writing and oral communication.

The award is named in honor of Frank Mooney, former outstanding English teacher at Colonie High School and a past vocalist with the Colonie Town Band.
The Prize is supported by donations the Colonie Town Band receives from performances.
